What You Will Learn

1️⃣ Introduction to Yoga (Theory)

  • Meaning and objectives of Yoga

  • Brief history and classical Yoga texts

  • Types of Yoga: Hatha, Raja, Bhakti, Karma & more

  • Benefits of Yoga for physical and mental wellbeing

2️⃣ Basic Anatomy & Safety (Theory)

  • Structure of the spine, major joints, and muscle groups

  • Understanding contraindications

  • Warm-up and cool-down principles

  • Safety guidelines for beginners

3️⃣ Foundational Asanas (Practical)

Learn and practice 15 essential Yoga postures, including: Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, Shashankasana, Setu Bandhasana, and more.

  • Surya Namaskar (6–8 counts)

  • Alignment principles and basic corrections

4️⃣ Breathwork & Relaxation (Practical)

  • Diaphragmatic breathing

  • Introductory pranayama:

    • Anulom Vilom

    • Deep Breathing

    • Bhramari

  • Guided relaxation in Shavasana

Assessment

  • Practical demonstration of 10 asanas + Surya Namaskar

  • Short oral viva on basic Yoga concepts

    Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Shashankasana, Butterfly etc.

  • Basic balancing drills

  • Fun flexibility exercises
